samsung galaxy tab sales

Samsung‘s Galaxy Tab 10.1 16GB with Wi-Fi has hit Canadian chain stores and is ready to be bought by those of you who have been drooling over a nicely equipped Android 3.x device. While the Motorola XOOM in previous months have underwhelmed the industry, I can honestly say this device is a true screamer. It matches the performance levels of the Asus EeePad Transformer minus the IPS display but the colors and viewing angles are satisfactory. Stores like Best Buy Canada and Futureshop will have this available on Friday, August 26 at a price of $499.99 without any contracts, so just one more working week ahead and you will enjoy this device by the weekend,. The photo above is a screenshot from theSource.ca and if you read the finer print it says that it is only available Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 online. However some readers have tipped one of our editors, Gary Ginn that they have seen it displayed on the floor of some Source locations.

Mobile carriers TELUS Mobility, Bell Mobility and Rogers Wireless here in Canada will also be releasing the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in 4G form with rumors indicating the release is expected to be early September.

The slab features TouchWiz over Android OS 3.1, 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1280×800, 1Ghz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, 3-megapixel rear camera with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling via Google Talk. If the names Galaxy Tab reminds you of the first iteration of a tablet from Samsung then you should end that train of thought right now. This is a completely new tablet with better specs, larger screen and a version of Android that is specifically designed for the tablet experience. The exterior is super thin at only 8.6mm and only weighs 565 grams.
